Position Overview:
As a Senior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the success of the business. You will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies to ensure the uninterrupted supply of our products. Your expertise in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships will be instrumental in maintaining the highest quality standards while optimizing costs and improving supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain for raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, conducting thorough assessments of their capabilities, quality standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms and achieve cost savings without compromising on quality.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, managing ongoing performance evaluations, resolving any issues, and fostering collaboration.
- Continuously monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and innovation.
- Analyse procurement data, track key performance indicators, and generate reports to provide insights and recommendations for optimizing procurement processes.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and compliance requirements related to food safety, labeling, and sustainability, ensuring adherence to all relevant standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Manager in the food industry.
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing strategies, procurement best practices, and market dynamics within the food industry.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive informed decision-making.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in using procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
