About the Role
In this newly created role, the Managing Director will provide strategic, commercial, and operational leadership and drive forward ambitious growth plans. The MD will play a key role in scaling up production at the site without compromising on quality, whilst scoping out new potential production locations locally in Kent to support future expansion.
To be successful in the role it is expected that the Managing Director will normally be present onsite Monday to Friday, when not attending off-site meetings and industry events.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and develop the strategic business plan, with a focus on business growth and continuous improvement.
- Working closely with the Group Financial Director, take responsibility for overall financial performance including maximising profit and managing
- Apply sales and marketing knowledge and business acumen when taking commercial
- Work with the Group Head of People to drive culture change and foster a high-performance culture with an engaged, collaborative team.
- Lead, mentor and coach a small management team in Production, Technical & Quality, with operational management responsibilities for Sales & Marketing, Customer Service and Procurement team members.
- With the support of the Group’s People team, assess resource needs, manage wage budgets and oversee the annual salary
- Support the recruitment, onboarding and retention of high-quality new
- Resolve any escalated customer, supplier, product or people
- Champion the food safety culture and work with the Technical and Quality team to maintain the AA BRC grade.
- Take overall responsibility and accountability for Health and Safety.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing
- 2 years at Commercial Director or Managing Director
- Demonstrable track record of driving change in a growth
- Commercial and entrepreneurial, with a business owner
- Financial awareness with data analysis and problem-solving
- People-focused, able to build trust, lead positive culture change and develop effective working relationships at all levels.
