Job Title: Interim Procurement Consultant

Location: North West (Possible hybrid + expenses / so consider contractors from anywhere in UK).

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager/Consultant to oversee procurement activities for our client: a leading food manufacturing business. The ideal interim consultant will have a track record of delivering ROI in similar roles within food manufacturing.

You will be responsible for managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the best quality raw materials are sourced at competitive prices.

 

Key Tasks:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring that we receive high-quality products and services at the best possible prices.
  • Monitor market trends and identify new suppliers and products that can help us improve our operations and reduce costs.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and develop procurement strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage the purchasing process from start to finish, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and product delivery.
  • Analyse data and provide regular reports on purchasing activity, supplier performance, and cost savings.

 

Contractor Profile:

  • At least 5 years of experience and previous contracting experience in procurement for the food industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to use data to make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other departments.
  • Experience with procurement software and systems.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
