Summary
The main purpose of this role will be to manage the overall responsibility of the Technical, Quality and Hygiene Functions on site with 5 direct reports and 8 indirect reports.
The Role
- To manage Technical priorities whilst ensuring customer, internal and 3rd party audits are handled to a high standard with excellent performance
- Ensuring Operational and NPD projects are completed in line with customer and company schedules from a Technical point of view
- Managing the hygiene team to support site GMP compliance with BRC and customer requirements
- Driving the ‘audit ready’ agenda on site by managing all site audits and assessments and making full use of the support available
The Candidate
- Must have a minimum 5 years experience managing Technical and Quality teams within a food production setting
- Technical experience in BRC, other GFSI and Retailer Standards (BRC proficient and a good track record in its implementation and proven results in raising standards)
- At least 10 years experience in food industry related roles
- A science related degree would be preferable
- Formal food hygiene and HACCP trained (at least Level 3)
- Strong and confident in leading a team, able to coach and mentor and be able to problem solve whilst being able to positively interact with internal customers and departments
