The Company

A prominent manufacturing company with facilities across Europe is seeking a dynamic Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) Manager to join the team.

 

The Job

As the ESH Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with industry standards and legislative requirements, fostering a safe, healthy, and positive work environment. You will identify and mitigate business risks, implement the ESH program, and liaise with regulatory bodies.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop policies and procedures to enhance the working environment, minimizing accidents and dangerous occurrences.
  • Conducting or coordinating audits and inspections.
  • Maintaining the site risk assessment program.
  • Planning and promoting health, safety, and environmental training for managers, team leaders, and employees.
  • Advising managers and team leaders on good HSE practices in the workplace.
  • Coordinating visits and meetings with Health & Safety Executive or similar bodies to advocate for the site’s best interests.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements for incidents, illnesses, and dangerous occurrences.

 

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety with a minimum of 5 years of site-level management experience, preferably in the food industry.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, influencing behavioural change with a flexible, determined, and positive approach.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate policies and standards into practical plans.
