We are currently seeking a skilled Specifications Technologist to join a leading food manufacturing company in Saffron Walden. As a third-party recruiter, we are partnering with our client to find a qualified and experienced professional who will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of raw material and finished product specifications. If you have a background in food manufacturing, knowledge of food legislation, and experience with specification management portals/systems, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain accurate raw material and finished product specifications, following both internal formats and customer requirements.
• Manage specification systems and portals, ensuring that information is up to date and complete.
• Ensure compliance with food legislation and customer-specific requirements.
• Provide technical support to ensure food safety, legality, and customer satisfaction.
• Liaise with customers, updating them on technical information and maintaining strong working relationships.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as Technical, QA, and NPD to ensure smooth operations.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in a technical role within the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of food legislation and regulations.
• Proficiency in specification management portals/systems.
• Excellent understanding of technical food specification writing.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Degree in Nutrition (highly beneficial).
• Experience working directly with major retailers (highly beneficial).
