My client is seeking a skilled Site Quality Assurance Manager to join their dynamic team in Stoke-on-Trent.
Position: Site Quality Assurance Manager
Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
As the Site Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, legality, and quality of all products manufactured at the site. You will be responsible for upholding customer and legislative requirements, as well as implementing best practices to achieve the highest standards. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the site’s Quality and HACCP systems, contributing to the overall success of the company.
- Collaborate with the Technical Manager to ensure the site meets the required BRC standards.
- Provide support during customer and regulatory audits, demonstrating a thorough understanding of quality and food safety requirements.
- Lead the site’s continuous improvement efforts for Quality and HACCP systems, striving for excellence.
- Maintain the site’s Quality Manual, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Offer technical support to enable the business to meet food safety, legal, and customer-specific requirements.
- Conduct internal audits in accordance with the Site Quality Manual, identifying areas for enhancement.
- Work closely with the NPD and production teams to facilitate successful new product launches.
- Communicate directly with customers, addressing technical inquiries, and nurturing strong working relationships.
- Ensure non-conforming product or packaging is controlled and rejected as per supplier protocols, conducting investigations where necessary.
- Assist in staff training and development initiatives on-site.
- Deputize for the Group Technical Manager when required.
- Foster a culture of food safety and quality across the organization.
Required and Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience from a technical-based role within food manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of Quality and Food Safety requirements and standards in the food industry (ISO, BRC standards, etc.).
- Knowledge of HACCP and factory QMS gained through a similar role in the food industry.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Degree in Nutrition, highly beneficial.
- Experience of working directly with major retailers highly beneficial.
