Shift Quality Manager (No weekends)

45k

London

Us: How would you describe the factory?

This client: Well, there’s loads of teams of people, groups of ten or so, so it’s quite loud and busy and you can hear people laughing and getting on. It’s just a really, really friendly and enjoyable place to work.

Company

They make outstanding quality products for their own stores and for retailers.

They have an incredible brand too.

This company does so much to make their staff feel welcome and happy it’s quite frankly unusual.

There’s enhanced maternity leave, paternity leave, grandparental leave (I’d never even heard of this one!), you can request a 3 month sabbatical and your job is saved for you, unlimited free products from a vault of their products (you’ll never buy bread again), free fruit and veg, a 24 hour GP line, a 24 hour mental health support line, cycle to work, etc, etc, etc.

There’s something called ‘The Grand Tour’. When you start, your first week includes working in all different parts of the business (ask me about it on the phone), you get to sit down and chat with the different directors and stakeholders in the business. The goal is to make you feel like a part of the team, and really welcome, as soon as possible.

Job

You’ll be one of several Quality Managers. It’s a factory facing role, so you won’t have to worry about being beaten up by Tesco and M&S every other week.

You’ll manage a reasonably large team of QAs and QCs.

They make several different products from several different categories, so your day to day is going to be varied.

It’s a Monday-Friday role, on either a 6-2 or a 2-10 shift pattern.

What you might not like

The shift pattern might not be ideal for you.

Parking there can be a pain. You’ll get round it though (and one of the team recently discovered a massive free parking place about 10 minutes walk away).

Final one – the products are so good, and you have free access to them, so there’s a genuine possibility you might put on some extra weight!

You

You’re a quality manager, or a quality shift manager.

You’ve worked in food manufacturing. You’re looking forward to working in a culture as I’ve described above.

You don’t need to have customer facing experience – working in a factory facing quality role is fine.

A lot of the rest is based on your personality.

If you have a post graduate VISA with 2 years left on it, and have a very high level of spoken English, then they may also consider you.
