Quality Manager (small site)
£43000 / year
Morecambe

M&S dedicated site.
Part of a wider group with great M&S links.
Small site with a great leader.
It’s also near the sea!

This site is small. It’s visible and part of a wider group. It’s got the best retailer onsite. It’s got some absolutely fantastic products.

They need a Technical Manager. You’ll be the lead person onsite technically. If you want to progress your career in technical, then this site is a great place to be for a few years to develop your visibility within a strong group and with M&S.

Maybe you’ve been a bit overlooked on a bigger site. Maybe you’re ready to be the lead technical person on a smaller site.

Most Technical Directors know M&S. It’s just one of those things. If you want to move upwards on the career ladder, it’s a really useful thing to have. If you don’t? It’s a lovely site with a small, intimate team where you really do have an impact.

Why you might want to do it

  • Lovely small site with a long serving team, so you can make an impact and actually get to know your colleagues.
  • For your CV and career prospects – the most challenging retailer, and all the doors that opens – with new products and a key category.
  • You get to work on a site which is stable and has the backing of the wider group.

What the site looks like

Despite being a small site, you’re not alone in the department! You’ll be working with a QA, for a start. The factory manager who runs the place has been there for a number of years. She can help you find your feet in the role if necessary, and is a great person to work with.

There are a few all year round products, several seasonal products and the site also acts as an overflow for when other sites in the group are stretched.

Keeps things busy and keeps you on your toes!

What you need to have done

  • You’ve been a technical manager or a quality manager before.
  • You’ve worked in the UK and have right to work in the UK, not on a visa (I’m afraid).
  • If you’ve worked in chilled food, in meat or fish, in food to go products – great. If not – no bother, really.
