Quality Manager

£43000 / year
Midlands

The hero’s story arc is three stages.

  1. They start of untested, have a call to adventure, and go off to face great challenges.
  2. The face great challenges, and overcome them.
  3. They progress to greatness (or they return home a her).

The key is, they face challenges.

Sitting on a site with no changeovers, no churn, no customer challenges – it might be an easy life but it isn’t a path to growth or development. Not really.

If you want a proper job, here’s one. The leadership team is changing, the customer is demanding, the place is really being turned around.

And they need a quality manager.

Simple question.

Could this be your call to adventure?

What the job is

Quality manager on a busy site making really great products for a high end food retailer. Really great products. There’s a mix of year round products (which provide stability to the site) and seasonal favourites (which provide challenge and stress and growth and profit!).

There’s all the stuff you’d expect; audits, customer visits, maintaining standards, etc.

Why you might want to do it

  • You’d be working for a prestigious customer in a very visible role.
  • Opportunities to progress within a wider group.
  • Central location, lots of opportunites to progress.

There’s a lot going on in the site. You’ll get to help to build and develop the technical team that you want to have. The Technical Director is super approachable. They’re local to site, too, so while they do have a multisite role, there’s always going to be support close to hand.

What you’ll need

  • You’ve been building a career in the quality or technical department of a food manufacturer.
  • You’ve been doing that for a number of years, and at least got to Quality Manager level.
  • A sense of humour. Or at least a good attitude! The site team care about each other. This means you’ll enjoy your work and they’ll enjoy working with you.

If you’re interested, you have the right background in food manufacturing, in technical or quality, and you want to apply, then please do. Happy to discuss the role with you.
