Job Purpose:

To develop and launch new and/or upgraded product concepts, driving these concepts through the development process to launch on time and to cost, ensuring that Quality standards are upheld. Building relationships with key stakeholders within the customer base so as to be first in their thoughts for new briefs.

The Job:

You’ll be the NPD Manager, spearheading innovation and managing the development process from concept to launch. This role demands creativity, strategic thinking, and excellent project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Product Development:Ensure the business stays at the forefront of innovation by keeping up with competitor launches and food trends. Develop new products in line with commercial and customer briefs, ensuring compliance with quality and operational standards.
  • Innovation & Market Awareness:Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the food retailing market, including trends and competitor activities, to develop cutting-edge products. Participate in innovation workshops and brainstorming sessions.
  • Customer Skills:Build strong relationships with customers through regular communication and professional presentations. Manage customer visits and ensure all NPD activities align with customer expectations.
  • Others:Coordinate NPD projects, maintain close relationships with sales and site teams, and participate in taste panels and development meetings. Conduct regular store visits and ensure compliance with customer brand standards and food regulations.

You:

  • Have 1-2 years of experience in food development.
  • Hold a degree in Food Science or a related field.
  • Possess excellent project and time management skills.
  • Have experience in customer interactions, including presentations.
  • Are driven, creative, and passionate about food.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Are a team player but can also work independently.
  • Have basic computer literacy in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exhibit a deep understanding of food and market trends.
  • Are confident and not afraid to challenge the status quo.
