Role: Multiskilled Night Engineer – Food Manufacturing
Shifts: Monday – Friday 10pm – 6am

Location: Greater Manchester
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Night Engineer to aid in the efficient running of our site via engineering activities. As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for attending breakdowns, planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, general works, and contributing to continuous improvement activities. You will work alongside production teams to ensure that all equipment is fit for purpose and that all standards of housekeeping are maintained in line with Good Engineering Practice, the company Quality System, and Health & Safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities on machinery and equipment in line with the scheduled plan
- Attend breakdowns and carry out fault finding to fix the issue and establish the root cause
- Ensure that all housekeeping standards are maintained on a daily basis in the workplace and that all activity complies with relevant Health & Safety and on-site procedures
- Assist production with machine training to ensure that all operatives, including new starters, understand the basics running efficiencies of machines
- Work with the Engineering Manager to continually improve operations and drive improvements in quality, cost, and safety
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a food manufacturing business
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, and/or pneumatic systems
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
