Maintenance Engineer, North Wales

We’re working with a successful food business in north Wales who are looking for an experienced, multi-skilled Shift Engineer to join their team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be key to keeping the factory running efficiently, supporting both reactive maintenance and continuous improvement projects.

 

About the Role:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you be part of team responsible for al planned and reactive maintenance across the site. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Minimising downtime by responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns, working either independently or as part of a team.
  • Delivering improvements to machinery and site processes, contributing to better OEE and overall performance.
  • Supporting the delivery of the site’s Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining strong Health & Safety, food safety, and GMP standards.
  • Liaising with internal teams and external contractors to ensure engineering work supports operational needs.

 

Shifts – you’ll be working a 12-hour pattern, mostly on Days (1 in 5 shifts is Nights). Details available on application as difficult to convey in an advert!

 

About You:

  • Time-served, multi-skilled engineer with NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in an electrical or mechanical discipline. Ideally with 18th Edition certification.
  • A food background would be ideal, but our client is open to other industries and would also be keen to hear from ex-forces engineers looking for opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of PPM systems and excellent fault-finding skills, both mechanical and electrical.
  • Comfortable working under pressure, with a proactive, practical approach to maintenance and improvements.
  • Able to work closely with production teams and external contractors.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to complete engineering logs and maintenance reports accurately.
