Maintenance Engineer, Manchester
Salary: £52,000 + Benefits
Shifts: 4 on/off (2 days/nights)
Would you be interested in an engineering maintenance role where you’re not constantly firefighting, but given the opportunity to work develop your skills and take the initiative on improvement projects?
We’re working with an established food manufacture in Manchester which is committed to investing in its people. They’re looking for a multiskilled maintenance engineer to join their team who enjoys solving problems, looking for improvements, and wants to be involved in project work and not just responding to breakdowns.
What you’ll be doing:
- Around 80% of your time will be spent on planned maintenance, the rest reactive where your focus will be on ensuring production continues to run and downtime is kept to a minimum.
- Contributing to CI projects, proactively looking for opportunities to remedy recurring faults, and more efficient and leaner ways of working.
- Developing your skills through training and sharing your knowledge with the wider team.
- Working with colleagues across engineering and production to improve overall performance.
About You
You don’t need to have worked in food production, as full training will be provided, and we’re keen to hear from anybody with the following:
- Apprentice trained engineer, ideally electrically biased with sound mechanical knowledge and experience.
- Experience of working in a planned/reactive maintenance engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing environment – our client is also keen to hear from anybody from the armed forces looking for opportunities.
- Proactive approach, keen to learn and develop and pass on your knowledge and skills to others in the team.
- Able to fault-find using PLCs (they use a mix of Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi).
Why Apply?
This business is committed to developing their people and they offer plenty of opportunities for training, development, and progression. To find out more, apply today!
