We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client, a leader in the food manufacturing sector, for the role of Engineering Shift Manager at their state-of-the-art facility in Leyland.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in UK food manufacturing to take on a pivotal role in a fast-paced environment.

 

The Role

As Engineering Shift Manager, you will:

  • Be the primary point of contact for engineering on your shift, ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Take a hands-on approach, regularly engaging on the factory floor to troubleshoot issues, ensure compliance with safety standards, and lead by example.
  • Manage and support a team of engineers, fostering a proactive and problem-solving culture.
  • Work a five-week rotating shift pattern, which includes both days and nights, to ensure 24/7 operational excellence.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in an engineering leadership role within the UK food manufacturing sector.
  • A hands-on, practical approach, with the ability to think on your feet and make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to build effective relationships across production and engineering teams.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance.
