The Role:
- Maintaining and developing relationships with current and new suppliers to build long term trading partnerships.
- Supporting supply chain to ensure that deliveries arrive in full, on time and correctly documented
- Working with suppliers to ensure product quality is achieved and maintained and working collaboratively to deal with any issues.
- Sales tracking and analysis. Working with the Consultant Buyer and Head of Business Development to analyse customer buying trends.
- Leasing with other departments to keep them up to date with delivery schedules, lead times etc.
- Visiting suppliers in the UK and Europe.
- Ensuring that the correct paperwork is prepared and liaising with suppliers and our accounts team to resolve any issues.
- Report preparation and analysis.
The Candidate:
- Exposure of Procurement or buying in food manufacturing or FMCG is essential
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to build strong internal and external relationships at all levels with the ability to influence.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Track record of delivering projects on time.
- A willingness to visit suppliers in the UK and abroad to learn about their operations
