Little Moons

At the beginning of 2021, Little Moons’ bite-sized ice cream mochi balls went viral on TikTok. As a small, family-run business that blew up within a matter of weeks, they knew they needed a helping hand to meet customer demand, while continuing to innovate and grow.

By partnering with Silven Recruitment, Little Moons was able to secure the very best talent, and fill over a dozen open vacancies in just three months. Read on to find out how…

The challenge

As their mochi ice cream bites grew in popularity, Little Moons knew they had to act fast to meet the ever-increasing demand of their hungry customers. The desserts were selling like hotcakes, and it didn’t take them long to realise that to keep the supermarket shelves stocked, they had to expand.

It goes without saying that Little Moons required a committed team of professionals who wanted to grow alongside the business, but finding the right people proved difficult. Searching for candidates, then interviewing and onboarding them, takes a significant amount of time which Little Moons just didn’t have.

The solution

To rapidly fill their open positions, Little Moons knew they needed to partner with a recruitment team that has experience sourcing and engaging top talent. After discussing their needs in detail, we recognised that this was more than a one-off job. It had to be a retained project exclusively between Little Moons and Silven Recruitment – and the brand agreed.

In order to find suitable candidates, we took the time to get to know the culture of the business and the roles they were trying to fill. Once we understood what Little Moons was looking for in an employee, we carefully selected and interviewed individuals who we knew would be a great fit for the business.

The result

Over a period of three months, we helped Little Moons fill 15 vacancies in various disciplines including Operations, Engineering, Technical and Supply Chain. As a result, they’re now able to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This has made a huge difference to the brand, as not only can they meet increasing customer demand, they’re also in a better position to develop their product range.

Naturally, the spike in demand for the ice cream mochi balls has sparked interest from retailers across the country. As a result, Little Moons has now launched in Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s. If they didn’t have the right number of staff with the appropriate skills, experience and attitude, this simply wouldn’t have been possible.

We look forward to working with Little Moons well into the future as they continue to innovate and expand. For them, we’ve taken the stress away from recruitment, and we can do the same for you.
