One of the UK’s biggest food manufacturers is looking for a Technical Services Manager to join their team in Manchester. The business supplies all major retailers as well as leading foodservice companies.

 

The Role

 

  • Design, Development and implementation of site Quality Management Systems to assure production of safe, legal food of the desired quality and to satisfy the requirements of Tulip and customer standards, codes of practice and third-party assurance schemes
  • Actively manage the performance of the technical services team, and support professional development of team members
  • Co-ordination of delivery of the internal audit programme
  • Ensure site is compliant with latest policies, legislation and best practice
  • Management of customer complaints process, and performance reports internally and externally
  • Production of customer technical specs, maintenance of customer technical information systems and provision of technical specs expertise and support
  • Deputise for Technical Manager
  • Key participant in customer visits and third-party audits
  • Document control is in place and adhered to

 

The Candidate

 

  • Knowledge of GFSI food assurance standards e.g. BRC or ISO 22000
  • Knowledge of retailer food safety, welfare and product integrity standards
  • Knowledge of SHE procedures and practices
  • Food science qualification or relevant experience
  • HACCP training level 3
  • Level 3 food safety in manufacturing
  • Internal auditor trained
  • Lead assessor/BRC auditor trained
