Are you a skilled Specifications Technologist with a passion for the food industry? We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join a renowned company in Cheshire. As a Specifications Technologist, you will be responsible for creating and managing customer format specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain customer format specifications, documentation, and artwork, adhering to customer policies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer spec-related queries, providing efficient and effective resolutions.
  • Collaborate with the commercial and quality teams, supporting them during customer site visits.
  • Proactively challenge and address issues and queries, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Facilitate the approval process, ensuring that quality, NPD, and operational requirements are met.
  • Foster a “Right first time” approach to specification writing, emphasizing accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Utilize various data sources to ensure the accuracy and consistency of information.
  • Maintain the internal database (SAP) to ensure data integrity.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Proven experience in Food Specification generation for major retail customers, including online portals.
  • Familiarity with Recipe Management Systems (SAP) and EU food labeling legislation.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective prioritization skills, with the ability to manage workloads and expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both internally and externally.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Knowledge of a second EU language is desirable.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
