We’d not worked with Lantmannen Unibake before. They had used several recruiters over the years and were losing faith. They weren’t getting the results they wanted and were frustrated by the lack of pace, quality of candidates and poor communication not to mention feeling they weren’t receiving a personalised or professional service. Basically receiving none of the things all recruiters purport to do well!
The new Head of NPD was a former candidate we’d placed in a previous role and had kept in touch with. She felt we could restore the businesses faith in recruiters and recommended us to resolve their longstanding need for a Process Development Manager.
We met with the Head of NPD and the HR Director to discuss the role in detail and get a feel for the culture of the business. As the role required specialist bakery experience, we suggested being retained to conduct a targeted search. This enabled us to professionally approach relevant people about the role and put a shortlist forward of only suitably qualified candidates.
We successfully completed the search within four weeks, attracting an excellent candidate from one of Lantmannen’s key competitors.
This was the first time the business had retained a consultancy and we have subsequently recruited their UK Purchasing Manager via the same means. We have also been installed as their retained recruiters for all managerial roles.
No more messing about with ad hoc CV’s from all and sundry but a coherent strategy and process for identifying and attracting core talent to the business within specific timelines.
We engaged Emma at Silven to help us with a sensitive and confidential assignment. Communication and updates were clear and timely and the quality of the candidates provided for interview was of a consistently high standard.
The most difficult part of the process was choosing between our final two candidates – if we could have taken them both, we would have!
Chris Roberts – Operations Director, Lantmannen Unibake
Emma found me a role that perfectly suited my requirements. She was very professional throughout the process, keeping me up-to date constantly with how the process was progressing. Also she respected that it can be difficult to take calls during working times, and always made herself available to have discussions at a time convenient for me. If I was unable to speak to Emma, one of her colleagues was always available to help.
Silven were very supportive throughout the negotiations, and continued to keep in contact until after I started the new role, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and to my satisfaction.
I would certainly recommend Silven to any candidates looking for a new role.
